Clever new Cybertruck feature stops towing mistakes before they happen
As electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla continues to bring new innovations, one of them is a clever new Cybertruck feature that increases safety, as well as helps minimize the risk of damage and increase the durability of Tesla’s popular vehicle.
Specifically, the innovation intends to warn the owner when they’re pushing it close to the upper payload capacity limit of 11,000 lbs of Dual Motor and Tri Motor All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) configurations, something that wasn’t there previously, according to the Summer Update 2025.26 release notes.

Now, owners will know when they’re coming close to or exceeding the tow capacity limit, and this new feature will help identify the issue. Per the report by Not a Tesla App, the undocumented feature will detect an overloaded rear axle and provide a warning to avert damage:
“Rear axle load exceeds recommended limit. Remove cargo or rebalance trailer to prevent damage.”

Meanwhile, Tesla’s Vice President of Powertrain, Lars Moravy, has hinted that a new compact pickup truck was in the works, which would be more appropriate for the smaller roads in Europe and Asia, although he hasn’t specified whether this will be a smaller Cybertruck or an entirely new vehicle.
At the same time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has hinted at the possibility of a Cybertruck version for global roads, as he commented on the X post that argued “there appears to be large untapped demand for an international version of the Cybertruck,” to which the Tesla CEO said “Yeah”.
Elsewhere, Moravy has also confirmed the rumors about the Tesla Roadster, the long-anticipated all-electric supercar with record-setting performance and efficiency, sparked by Musk’s cryptic update about the “most epic demo ever” to come out by the end of the year.
Interestingly, Tesla has remained among the most popular auto brands in Europe despite opposition to the company due to Musk’s political stance and even far-left extremists in Germany claiming responsibility for a fire at a construction site linked to Tesla.
