The world’s first smartphone for pets has been released at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).
In a YouTube video on 4 March, the company known as Glocalme unveiled PetPhone with a demonstration of how it works, allowing pet owners to effectively communicate with their pets through voice remotely.
Improving pet care
The device is just like any other pet wearable, but takes pet care to a higher level with the ability to communicate with a pet remotely.
Unlike a conventional smartphone, the phone is programmed to recognize barks or other actions that indicate agitation, so that the owner can calm his pet down remotely by speaking through the phone.
PetPhone also has other AI features that help pet owners monitor the health of their pets to gain an insight into their wellbeing.
It also comes with top tracking tech such as GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to allow owners track their pets should they go missing at any point or when one method of tracking fails.
Glocalme, a mobile data connection solution company is quite versatile in its technologies. The company has invented other pet-related products, including KeyTracker, a light wearable device for tracking pets when they go missing.
At the MWC 2025, the company also unveiled “global localization” products which include a triple-SIM solution that pairs an eSIM, an OTA SIM, and the company’s CloudSIM, plus the CloudSIM kit.
Impressing dedicated pet owners
As of 2024, it was estimated that close to 87 million homes in the U.S. alone had pets, and that number may have increased by now.
With this new PetPhone, many of these households will be better off with seamless communication with their pets and being able to monitor their health at all times.
