Leading electric vehicle maker, Tesla has enabled the direct ordering of spare parts through the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC).
According to an X post on 7 January, the feature is currently only available to U.S. users with a restricted parts availability which will expand in the near future with more countries added.
This is to make buying of spare parts more convenient as the feature allows users to order parts from the comfort of their homes and have them delivered.
Improving the Tesla experience
Tesla is a top brand globally when it comes to electric cars, but what sets it apart is the constant effort to improve the user experience.of Tesla users.
This is seen in the effort to make Superchargers available as widely as possible to make charging more accessible and more efficient. The company reached a milestone of 60,000 Superchargers worldwide last year.
Tesla is also working on unsupervised FSD which it is currently testing within the company and plans to launch for public use later this year.Â
With the ability to order parts online from the comfort of oneâs home, Tesla is once again taking another step to ensure that users enjoy the maximum convenience in using their EVs.
The company experimented in November with the sale of a few items such as windshield wipers, air filters, license plate brackets, and low-voltage batteries (16V only).
Because of the success recorded with the trial parts, it is expanding the offer to include more parts and hopefully more countries soon.
More additions to come
Apart from the direct to customer parts sales, it seems Tesla has a lot more in the pipelines for 2025 and even beyond.
It is rumored that CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that Grok, a generative AI currently available only on X will be coming to Tesla vehicles soon.Â
