Google AI and YouTube working to improve healthcare content creation
Google AI and YouTube are working on improving the quality of health content on YouTube using generative AI.
In an announcement on 1st November, YouTube said the collaboration with Google AI is aimed primarily at using AI to help generate video ideas, to organize peer-reviewed scientific information, and for inspiration towards providing more engaging content.
Exploring AI for health creators
Many content creators already find the use of AI very useful both for generating ideas and creating videos.
As a result, YouTube has been testing AI tools for a few health creators and organizations to find ways of publishing authoritative, high-quality content.
The video streaming platform has been receiving feedback from two of the testers on the pilot, Cleveland Clinic and Dr Jen Caudle.
Asked if the use of AI tools for content creation has been helpful, Executive Director of Digital Marketing, Cleveland Clinic, Amanda Todorovich said:
“We’ve found the AI tools can be especially helpful in our ideation stage. We love how it pulls data from both YouTube and search engine results to suggest relevant content ideas, allowing us to cut down the amount of time it takes to research new topics. The AI tools also add value by providing topics and sample questions for interviews. This is the most beneficial to us when we’re scripting our expert interviews questions and podcast discussions.”
Also responding to the same question, Dr Caudle said:
“It’s been great! So far, this AI tool has been very helpful providing topic ideas and well-sourced information for me to use in my videos. One thing I loved is that when I entered the topic I was interested in, the tool generated a number of sub-topics that I could choose from. This helped me generate ideas and think creatively. Also, I really like that I could choose which tasks I wanted to do- from generating a video outline to writing a script and more.”
Making YouTube better
Like most content creation platforms, YouTube has recently been exploring new ways to improve the platform for both commercial and personal accounts.
Last month, the platform introduced a new way for users to create playlists with friends to improve the way they share content.
