Samsung Electronics has introduced generative wallpapers feature for the 2024 Neo QLED and QLED TV models, powered by Tizen OS.
A press release by the company on 23 October said the new feature leverages AI to create custom 4K images that enhance the TV’s display.
The new feature is expected to launch in South Korea, North America and Europe this month, with a global rollout planned for 2025.
Personalizing user experience
Samsung has gone an extra mile to make viewing more memorable for its customers. With the new feature, users a unique way to personalize their viewing experience. The press release stated that:
“Generative Wallpaper brings a new dimension of personalization to our customers’ screens, allowing them to customize their TVs in a way that truly reflects their style,” said Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “As we continue to push the boundaries of AI technology, we look forward to transforming the home entertainment experience and evolving how users interact with their screens.”
Fans of Samsung can now access high-quality visuals that seamlessly integrate with their home décor and create a welcoming and immersive atmosphere for them and their visitors.
The feature will be accessible via Samsung’s Ambient Mode, with useful information like weather updates, news and time.
To access it, users can choose themes such as ‘Happy Holiday’ or ‘Party’ from the “Ambient Mode” menu, depending on the mood and Samsung AI will produce 4K visuals that fit the environment.
Samsung harnessing AI
Samsung is one of the tech giants that have recently started harnessing AI to enhance their performance in the industry.
Just last week, the company announced the launch of industry’s first ever 24-gigabit (Gb) GDDR71 DRAM.
According to Samsung, the new DRAM will be used in many ways, including next-generation AI computing systems starting next year.
