As Tesla continues to bring more innovations into its product lineup, a mysterious Tesla vehicle has made its appearance during a recent drone flyover of the Giga Texas complex, where the electric vehicle (EV) maker has been crash testing some of its cars.
Specifically, Giga Texas and Starbase watcher and drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer, who has been keeping up with the developments and progress at the facility, captured the footage in his recent flyover, showing a number of Model Y units and one covered car at around 25:10 of the video, on August 30.
According to the video, the mysterious vehicle stood between two Model Ys, but it looked significantly shorter than them, and it had a slightly different roofline, so some EV watchers speculated that it could be the Tesla Cybercab or a more affordable Tesla car.

Tesla Cybercab or a more affordable model?
Indeed, the mysterious vehicle could be the upcoming two-passenger battery-electric self-driving Tesla Cybercab, which is a lot smaller than a Model Y or Model 3 and should go into mass production next year, but Tesla had already unveiled the concept in October 2024.
On the other hand, in Tesla’s Q2 earnings call, the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, announced that Tesla would start production of “more affordable models available for everyone in Q4,” adding that:
“The goal with those products was not to negatively impact revenue or gross margin, but just to make a car that everyone loves and wants at a more affordable price.”
Meanwhile, Tesla’s VP of Powertrain, Lars Moravy, has hinted at a new compact pickup truck in the works, more suitable for European and Asian streets, although it isn’t clear whether this would be a smaller version of the Tesla Cybertruck or an entirely new design.
Elsewhere, Moravy has confirmada the rumors about the Tesla Roadster, the long-awaited all-electric supercar with record-setting performance and efficiency, sparked by Musk’s mysterious update about the “A demonstração mais épica de todos os tempos” that would come out by the end of the year.
