PlayStation has announced plans to launch a new game, Redacted, for PS5 on October 31.
The company announced the game’s release on X today, 28 October. It is set in The Callisto Protocol universe, and promises lots of adventure for players who like to take some risks.
Inspired by comic series, Redacted, it takes players on a dungeon crawler adventure to meet deadly foes they have to contend with.
A look inside the dungeon
The game was designed to let players battle both familiar creatures and new âbaddiesâ, making it more memorable.
One group of the creatures are the Danglers. These creatures, though weak, crawl towards you and then explode, causing unimaginable damage.
You can destroy them using any good weapon, but they get more resilient as you proceed in the game, with types including Basic, Lightning, Fire, and Cryo Danglers.
Then there are the Cybernetic Switchers, which are completely new for Redacted. Unlike the Danglers, they are fast and attack in groups, forcing players to change their tactics quickly.
There are also the Dashers which dash as the name implies, meaning they are really fast. They move quickly from point to point, while unleashing melee attacks and leaving grenades behind.
The next three enemies are reserved for the top levels of the game, and they work together, making it a really tough battle for those who make it to the top.
First are the crazed prisoners who inhabit the prisons. Like the Danglers, they are physically weak, but that is not an advantage to you because theyâre not there to hurt you directly.
In fact, they avoid you, but sabotage you in the heat of battle by making you the sole target for the other foes.
Next is the Robot Shaman which uses electric shock that can damage you, so you need to keep your distance. The Two-Head is the last of the foes and while slow, is big and deadly if it lays hands on you.
What to look forward to
PlayStation has launched a number of interesting games this year, and still has more for players to look forward to in the coming year.
The company announced earlier this month that it will launch Tomb Raider IV-VI in February 2025, which promises a lot of fun for fans of Lara Croft.
