NVIDIA has rolled out real-time AI for entertainment workflows, powered by NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell GPU series.
According to a press release on 19 March, the AI will enable media companies to harness real-time AI for media workflows with unprecedented speed, efficiency and creative potential.
Powering intelligent content creation
NVIDIA Blackwell is the backbone of NVIDIA’s initiative that enables real-time AI by bringing together the company’s technologies
The Blackwell GPUs transform all aspects of production workflows and experiences, including content creation, streaming and live media.
Real-time AI enables AI-driven workflows to process large datasets in real time, unlocking faster rendering, simulation and content generation.
Commenting, Steve May, chief technology officer of Pixar Animation Studios said:
“One of the most exciting aspects of new technology is how it empowers our artists with tools to enhance their creative workflows. With Pixar’s next-generation renderer, RenderMan XPU — optimized for the NVIDIA Blackwell platform — 99% of Pixar shots can now fit within the 96GB of memory on the NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs. This breakthrough will fundamentally improve the way we make movies.”
NVIDIA’s Blackwell brings new features that offer stunning graphics and AI performance that make entertainment more immersive and intuitive.
These features include Ninth-Generation NVIDIA NVENC which accelerates video encoding speed and improves quality for broadcast and live media applications.
Sixth-Generation NVIDIA NVDEC offers professionals high-quality video playback, accelerated video data ingestion and advanced AI-powered video editing features.
Further, Fifth-Generation PCIe improves data transfer speeds from CPU memory and unlocks faster performance for data-intensive tasks, while DisplayPort 2.1 offers high-resolution displays at up to 8K at 240Hz and 16K at 60Hz.
All of these features help broadcasters achieve high-resolution video processing, real-time augmented reality and AI-driven content production and video analytics.
