Nvidia has acquired AI infrastructure platform, Run:ai as it shifts its focus to providing support for humanoid robots.
A blog post by Run:ai on 30 December confirms that Nvidia has completed the acquisition of the platform with the aim of improving its AI services.Â
Building on past achievements
Run:ai says it remains committed to providing the reliable AI infrastructure it is known for even as a part of Nvidia.
âTrue to our open-platform philosophy, as part of NVIDIA, we will keep empowering AI teams with the freedom to choose the tools, platforms, and frameworks that best suit their needs. We will continue to strengthen our partnerships and work alongside the ecosystem to deliver a wide variety of AI solutions and platform choices.â
Also in a bid to expand its availability to the entire AI ecosystem and not just NVIDIA GPUs, the platform intends to open source its software to help clients build better AI faster.
Through this union, both Nvidia and Run:ai will be poised to embark on a mission to help humanity solve its most pressing problems using AI and driven by GPUs and AI infrastructure.
âWhen we founded Run:ai in 2018, our goal was clear: to be a driving force in the AI revolution and empower organizations to unlock the full potential of their AI infrastructure. Over the years, our world-class team has achieved milestones that we could only dream of back then. Together, weâve built innovative technology, an amazing product, and an incredible go-to-market engine.â
The platform has also built several critical partnerships along the way since its launch, and joining Nvidia is one of the most important.
Helping Nvidiaâs vision
Nvidia, a renowned chip maker and AI company, has been a leader in the AI market. However, it recently shifted its focus to providing support for humanoid robots.
The company announced recently that it will be launching compact computers for humanoid robots in 2025, and acquiring Run:ai is clearly a step towards achieving this goal.
