Microsoft has given its store on Windows a facelift with new features including AI added to it to enhance performance.
In a blog post on 5 June, the company highlighted major changes that have been made, including a change to the home page, addition of Copilot for easier navigation, among others.
Making Windows Store better
Microsoft Store on Windows is used by over 250 million users who have made suggestions for certain changes which the company has finally implemented.
The homepage is now personalized to suit the purpose of the user. Whatever it is you’re known for, the homage will be curated specifically to meet your needs while in the store.
In the coming weeks, users will also see fresh recommendations based on recent activities, what’s trending in your region, and the most recent deals.
There are major new changes also that enable users to easily navigate the store. The search has become smarter, making it easier to find things you’re looking for, and brings more relevant results.
Users in the U.S. also now have Copilot in the bottom right corner to answer questions while they are browsing product pages. They’ll also see a new “Discover More” section that includes related content they may be interested in.
They can also easily tell which apps have AI features, and which apps are great for Copilot+ PCs through new product page badges.
With deeper Windows integration, users can now launch Windows search, search for an app or game from the Store, and install it quickly.
Finally, Microsoft is also experimenting with providing different app suggestions for opening files with extensions, making it easier to open any file.
In general, the store is now two times faster than it was six months ago, and installation is faster and more reliable. Users can access all these changes by simply updating their software to the latest Windows update.
