Microsoft has released November security updates for its latest and most advanced Windows, Windows 11.
According to an X tweet on 12 November, the updates fix some security issues with the Windows version which has been widely criticized by Microsoft customers.
The updates affect version 24H2 (5046617), and versions 22H2 & 23H2 (KB5046633).
Key highlights
A look at the release notes for version 24H2 shows that it addresses a key issue with Task Manager.
The issue caused the count for the number of groups to be wrong or always zero (0) on the Processes tab when “Group by type” was turned on.
For versions 22H2 & 23H2, the update addresses security issues for the Windows operating system, which includes improvements that were part of KB5044384 released on October 24.
To be fair, these are important updates because the community of Windows users have complained about the Windows 11 2024 update. Hopefully, the fixes will make it more acceptable from now on.
Windows has also notified users that there will be no non-security preview update for December 2024 because of the holidays. However, there will be a monthly security update for the month..
Not all bad
While Windows 11 has received a lot of criticism because of the many flaws it has, the journey hasn’t been all bad.
Microsoft recently added AI to the Notepad, making it possible to improve content by rewriting, changing tone, etc. to make it suitable for any purpose.
With the security updates that fix issues and more new features added, Windows 11 may eventually become as popular as Windows 10 or any of the others before it.
It remains to be seen though, what the security updates for the coming months have to offer and how they will make Windows 11 better.
