Amid a slew of innovative car designs coming up, Mercedes-Benz has teased a concept vehicle called the Vision V, which represents the brand’s upcoming portfolio of luxury vans that will include the new VLE and VLS.
As it happens, Mercedes-Benz said that the range will include flexible family vehicles, exclusive VIP shuttles, and luxurious limousines “with an enormous amount of space,” and will premiere in Shanghai on April 22, according to the company’s press release on April 20.
Indeed, the carmaker explained that Vision V is “literally Mercedes-Benz’s vision of combining generous space with maximum exclusivity and an unprecedented immersive, digital experience.” As it added, its aim was to define a “unique segment of its own.”
Vision V details
Although not many details are yet out in the open, various reports suggest that the future Mercedes-Benz grand limousine models – VLE and VLS – will feature an 800V electrical system with single and dual-motor configurations, and its flagship variant would achieve more than 500 km on a single charge.
At launch, the electric vans will include Level 2 self-driving operations, while the carmaker plans to drop Level 3 and Level 4 systems later on.
Additionally, the video teaser hints at exaggerated details and a cozy interior with futuristic ambient lighting, premium materials, comfortable seats, and a pull-down table large enough to let you have a full-on chess match with a friend or family member.
Elsewhere, Mercedes-Benz has earlier revealed its work on revolutionary paint containing solar power modules that could address the problem of owners of electric vehicles (EVs) still depending on charging infrastructure that might be inadequate or take too much time.
