South Korean electronic component manufacturer LG Innotek is presenting its new cutting-edge lighting product featuring the unique ‘Edge’ and ‘Vision’ technologies during the 34th Lighting Workshop at Motorworld Munich, Germany, organized by Driving Vision News (DVN).
As it happens, LG Innotek announced it would showcase its innovative lighting tech at the event under the theme of ‘Next Challenges: Sustainability, Development Speed Acceleration, and Software,’ held on February 19 and 20, according to the company’s press release.
Specifically, the team will participate in the session titled ‘Innovative Technology – Light Source,’ where it will introduce the tech that LG Innotek has applied to Nexlide, a flexible stereoscopic automotive lighting module.
Notably, the lineup includes Nexlide A, a rear lamp product that minimizes module thickness while providing bright, uniform light using LG Innotek’s proprietary micro-optical pattern tech, and Nexlide A+, the industry’s first surface light source module for front-end lighting applications.
Other highlights include Nexlide C+ relying on 3D lighting tech to create 3D images, and Nexlide M, with the possibility of placement on both the front and rear of a vehicle, which is already receiving a steadily growing number of orders.

Finally, LG Innotek will unveil two new Nexlide products – Edge, which is now slimmer thanks to replacing the LED packages with LED chips, and Vision, combining Pixel Lighting and Smart Film technologies to create various text and animation effects.
The latter will be available for hands-on testing for visitors, who will be able to write messages on a digital pad installed next to it, and the text will show up on the automotive lights.
Commenting on the innovations, an LG Innotek representative explained just how the company’s Vision product is intended to work:
“Currently, when a vehicle makes a sudden stop, all the driver can do is activate the hazard lights. Once Nexlide Vision is commercialized, however, vehicles will be able to communicate the driver’s situation to the outside world in greater detail, such as the reason for the sudden stop and what kind of help is needed.”
Overall, tech upgrades to vehicles, such as the newest LG Innotek’s products, are constantly changing the way we travel, transport, and otherwise experience cars. And some of them, as is the case with the Nexlide Vision module, can enhance roadside assistance and even help increase safety.
