Luxury automaker Lamborghini has announced recalls for its first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV), Lamborghini Revuelto.
In a campaign posted on 19 December, the NHTSA announced on its website that the company is recalling certain 2024 Revuelto vehicles for oil leak concerns.
The agency said that the oil circuit connection flange screws for the affected vehicles may not have been properly tightened during assembly, which could potentially cause the oil line to leak.
What to do
The fault in the affected vehicles could have serious implications if not addressed. According to the NHTSA, an oil leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire, thus endangering the lives of the vehicle occupants.
For those who own the affected vehicles, owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 7, 2025 and they are encouraged to quickly attend to the issue.
They can go to authorized dealers who will Inspect and repair the flange screws as necessary, free of charge. They may also contact Automobili Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276.
Automobili Lamborghini also has a dedicated phone number for this recall, which is L74X-R.03.24 and car owners can reach it for questions if any.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to the website for more information.
Other recalls this year
Recalls are quite common in the automobile industry, for faults ranging from minor to major, depending on the impact they can have.
Earlier this year, other automakers recalled thousands of vehicles as well. The most recent of them is Toyota, which recalled over 8,000 of its 2023 and 2024 Corollas due to steering shaft problems.
Earlier, Honda recalled about 800,000 of its most recent Accord, CRV-Hybrid, and Civic vehicles for design faults in its high-pressure fuel pumps which may cause a leak that can trigger a fire.
