In its drive toward commanding the electric vehicle (EV) industry and boosting the adoption of electric mobility, Kia Corporation has just revealed its EV4 sedan and hatchback, as well as the Concept EV2 model, completing its EV lineup.
As it happens, the car-making giant unveiled the EV4 as its first electrified sedan (four-door) and hatchback (five-door), as well as the Concept EV2, as a B-segment electric SUV previewing an upcoming production model, at the brand’s 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain.
Specifically, Kia said it had launched its EV4 to “redefine the C-segment” and shown it “in both sedan and hatchback body styles,” to illustrate a “fresh approach to the traditional aesthetics of the sector,” under the campaign slogan ‘Your Edge in Motion.’

Furthermore, the EV4 targets the ‘Early Majority’ customer segment, promoting EV adoption “through a blend of practical and innovative design, technological reliability, and a flexible electric vehicle experience that meets a diverse range of customer needs.”
As the company noted, users will be able to choose between a 58.3 kWh standard and 81.4 kWh long-range battery configurations. They will also benefit from the 10-80% charging in just 31 minutes (the long-range model) from the 400V EV-dedicated platform.
On top of that, the standard and long-range options boast a front-mounted 150 kW motor capable of reaching 0-100 km/h in 7.4 and 7.7 seconds, with a top speed of 170 km/h in both variants. The sedan can deliver a target range of 430 km in the standard model, and 630 km in the long-range.
Other innovations include in-car content streaming and connectivity services like YouTube and Netflix, support for software updates via mobile, Digital Key 2.0 that enables access via Apple Watch, adaptive Smart Regenerative Braking, a 30-inch wide-screen display connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), and more.
The production of the Korean sedan model at Kia’s Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant will begin in mid-March, while the second half of the year will see the Europe-only EV4 hatchback made in Slovakia. North America and other regions will get their EV4s later this year.
Concept EV2 SUV specs
On the other hand, the Concept EV2 aims to allow users to “experience urban spaces in new and more immersive ways,” with the SUV’s vertical daytime running lights (DRLs), Star Map signature lighting, compact design (the smallest Kia EV to date), and spacious cabin.
Additional features include flexible seating, pop-up luggage dividers and straps, message window tech to display alerts to other road users, removable triangular speaker, rear-hinged doors, flat floor, a folding second-row seat, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging and Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
In the words of Kia President and CEO, Ho Sung Song:
“The Kia Concept EV2 represents a bold step forward for the future of urban mobility. (…) With the Concept EV2, we challenged ourselves to create a vehicle that defies expectations, offering innovative technology and practicality beyond its size. This concept previews Kia’s future vision to redefine the segment, bringing a new level of sophistication and usability to urban drivers.”
The company expects to launch it in Europe and other regions in 2026.
Meanwhile, Kia has revealed plans to decrease EV charging costs for its customers by introducing a new Smart Charging service as part of Hyundai Motor Group’s global push to advance the Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) concept. Smart Charging is already available to EV owners in the Netherlands.
