Global payment giant PayPal has rolled out PayPal Link, a simple way to send and receive payment by sharing a one-time link.
同社 発表済み on 15 September that the feature is initially available only to U.S. customers, with plans to include more countries soon.
Making payments easier
PayPal’s new link is personalized and can be shared through any conversation, including sms, email, or social media DM.
Customers in the U.S. can start using the feature today by generating the links and sharing to receive payments and funds are instantly accessible in app balance.
The recipient taps the link and either completes or accepts the payment within the PayPal App with their PayPal account.
Links expire after 10 days if not used, and users can send a reminder or cancel the payment or request before the link is claimed with the PayPal app.
In addition, the company intends to directly integrate crypto peer-to-peer (P2P) into its new P2P payment flow in the app soon.
This will enable U.S. users to send Bitcoin, Ethereum, PYUSD, and more, to PayPal, Venmo, other digital wallets across the world that support crypto and stablecoins.
Diego Scotti, General Manager, Consumer Group at PayPal.
“For 25 years, PayPal has revolutionized how money moves between people. Now, we’re taking the next major step. Whether you’re texting, messaging, or emailing, now your money follows your conversations. Combined with PayPal World, it’s an unbeatable value proposition, showing up where people connect, making it effortless to pay your friends and family, no matter where they are or what app they’re using.”
Expansion of PayPal Link availability to the UK, Italy, and other markets is expected to start later this month, allowing more people to make and receive payments seamlessly across borders.
