The European Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) has awarded the MINI Countryman, BMW’s largest model, the 5-star safety rating.

BMW’s MINI Countryman has a wide range of safety features that made it to win the rating. One of such features is the safety-related driver assistance systems fitted to the vehicle.
It also boasts the latest generation of front collision warning with braking function that makes it highly safe in city traffic.
Also with the ability to detect pedestrians and cyclists approaching parallel to the lane from the front and back when turning and warning for oncoming traffic, the vehicle effectively avoids collision with weaker road users.
Euro NCAP testing institute also rated the vehicle highly on the standard centre airbag between the driver and front passenger seats, as well as the active engine compartment lids that help to reduce the risk of injury to pedestrians and cyclists.
BMW’s high safety
Although this 5-star rating for the MINI countryman is a major achievement, it is only one of many ratings that BMW models have passed.
The BMW 5 Series Sedan for example, was the first of the company’s models to achieve a 100% safety equipment rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.
Other models that have won the 5-star rating include BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the BMW X1, which also got a 5-star rating from Global NCAP.
