Amazon has just launched a new pickup and return option for customers on military installations, bringing more convenience.
Members of the military community can now enjoy package pickup and label-free, box-free returns at Army and Air Force installations across the United States.
This is Amazon’s response to popular demand, and this is how you can actually take advantage of the new offer.
How to pick up or return items at Army and Air Force Exchange Stores
Amazon is expanding this offer to more than 90 Army and Air Force installations, bringing the network to more than 25,000 pickup locations in the U.S.
For pickups, follow the steps below.
- On your Amazon account, select your local exchange as a pickup option if your address is on or near the installation after placing your order.
- You’ll receive an e-mail notification with the information needed to retrieve your parcel once it arrives.
- You’ll most likely be directed to pick up the package at the customer service desk at most AAFES stores, or you’ll be otherwise instructed.
For returns, follow these steps.
- On your Amazon account, select your local exchange as a return option if your address is on or near the installation.
- Go to “Your Orders” and select the item you wish to return on the Amazon website or app.
- After selecting it, you’ll see different options for the return.
- Now, select a label-free, box-free return location after initiating your return through Your Orders.
- After completing the steps, you’ll receive a QR code.
- Next, take the eligible item to the drop-off location in the original manufacturer’s packaging with the QR code. You don’t need to pack in shipping boxes.
- The item will be packed and shipped at no extra cost.
Making things easier for servicemen
The new pickup and return option was made possible through a collaboration between Amazon and The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES).
Going forward, you will not have to go on unnecessary trips off base to pick up or return items, making it more convenient.
