The company in a blog post on 22 September said the integration allows users to have natural conversations with their TVs henceforth.

Gemini for TV can help with anything ranging from helping to find the perfect show to solving homework assignments.

Boosting entertainment experience

Google has used AI to improve many of its products and services with Gemini, and is now extending this technology to entertainment through Google TV.

The new Gemini for TV brings many more functions to Google TV in addition to Google Assistant which already existed.

Whether you’re confused about what to watch, want a briefing about your favorite show, or want to remember any random detail, all you have to do is ask the big screen in your sitting room.

For example, a simple prompt like “Find me something to watch with my wife. I like dramas, but she likes lighthearted comedies.” will bring up a movie that both parties will enjoy without compromising on anyone’s interest.

You can also use your TV now to help your child with their homework assignments, learn a new skill, or even ask it for a food menu.

Taking AI to next height

Google is just one of many tech companies that are exploring AI for different use cases to improve lives and user experience.

It however stands out as one company that has explored the technology to a high degree, affecting almost every aspect of its products and services.

While this has been mostly celebrated, there have also been criticisms such as that against AI search overview which many Google users believe is terrible and would do anything to opt out of using.
