Google Chrome has released four new improvements for iOS. This is in a bid to improve the experience for iOS users.
In a blog on 12 November, Chrome Product Manager Katia Muradyan said the new improvements allow users to add words to your Google Lens search.
The others allow users to view shopping insights for the best deals, save files & photos directly to Google Drive and Google Photos, and see Google Maps location info with just one tap.
Making Chrome easier
The new improvements to Chrome for iOS focus on finding information and completing tasks on iOS devices.
Going forward, users can search with both images and text on Google lens. Before now, iOS users, like other Chrome users, could only upload images from their gallery to search online using Google Lens.
With the new improvement, they can also add text to the images they upload, allowing for more complex and specific searches that generate more relevant results.
Also, users can now save space on their iOS devices by saving pictures and files from the web directly on Google Drive and Photos instead of their devices.
The third improvement enables shoppers to find better deals with Shopping Insights. Chrome will automatically send “Good Deal Now” notifications to users who browse products for which Chrome has Shopping Insights once the feature is available to them. This is only available to U.S. users for now.
The last improvement allows users to view the map of an address with a single tap. Very soon, users can view a mini-map of any address by tapping on the link right on their browsers. This feature is currently being tested and will be rolling out globally over the coming months.
Before now
Google has been working on making Chrome better this year. Just last month, it released updates for the browser across different devices and operating systems.
The updates focussed mainly on addressing security vulnerabilities, and now the team has added improvements to iOS devices, making Chrome easier and more fun to use.
