Gamers on X (formerly Twitter) have responded swiftly to an update by foremost game maker, PlayStation.
The company in a tweet on 4 November said enhanced PS5 Pro features are coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from the devs at Insomniac Games, including upgraded reflections.
Gamers who follow PlayStation responded shortly after, with most of them expressing their dissatisfaction with the new upgrade, saying they prefer Story Downloadable Content (DLC).
Story DLC, not reflections
PlayStation hinted on 31 October that PS5 Pro was coming in a week. Indeed, the company has confirmed on its website that the PS5 Pro is coming on 7th November, in addition to the announcement for enhanced PS5 Pro features with upgraded reflections.
Gamers on X however responded negatively to the upgrade announcement, saying they prefer DLC, and not more reflections. Reflections are a technique used in gaming to create the illusion of light reflecting off of surfaces to enhance the game’s graphics.
One of the gamers commented saying:
“So I’m so disappointed in spider man the way they did. We paid 100 dollars for this game. You can finish this game in 3 days, the story mode at least and there’s no dlc us gamers have to start valuing stuff. Different game developers have become so lazy. Never pre ordering a SM game.”
To put it in context, DLC is downloadable content that can be added to a game following release of the game. This may include new characters, levels, weapons, game modes, or cosmetic items that gamers can add to the games they pre-order.
Apparently, players were looking forward to such content to make the gaming experience richer, but the company hasn’t made provision for it yet.
Other PlayStation announcements
PlayStation has announced many new games to come out this year. Among such announcements is the upcoming Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered launching in February next year.
A new game, Redacted, also went live on PS5 on 31 of October, and the PS5 Pro in a few days would have brought much fun if it had some DLC.
