American automaker Ford will begin the sale of certified, pre-owned vehicles on Amazon. Going forward, customers will be able to browse a participating local dealer’s inventory directly through Amazon’s website and proceed with purchase before pickup.
Ford announced the new partnership with Amazon in a blog post, stating that Customers can now shop for, finance, and purchase Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned (CPO) Ford vehicles on Amazon Autos.
All eligible vehicles under this arrangement must have undergone multi-point inspection and come with roadside assistance, the company said.
Ford Makes Vehicle Acquisition Easier
Amazon is the largest retail online shopping platform in the world, and Ford is leveraging its reputation to make the purchase of its used vehicles easier and more secure.
Eligible vehicles go through different levels of certification to meet customers’ needs, starting with Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas, with plans to expand to additional markets.
The vehicles are categorized as Gold certified with less than 80,000 miles, Blue certified with less than 150,000 miles, and EV certified for EVs up to six years old with less than 80,000 miles.
Customers within a 75-mile radius can browse participating inventory, view itemized pricing, and secure financing from a selection of banks, including Ford Credit, right on Amazon. Local participating Ford dealers will handle pricing, vehicle pickup, and all future service needs.
Amazon’s Adventure into Automobiles
Amazon has been venturing more into automobile services lately, indicating a shift to accommodate more of the industry.
Just about two weeks ago, the company revealed that it is releasing its Alexa Custom Assistant for vehicles to be tested first by selected BMW models.
By fully integrating the sale of Ford vehicles online, the retail giant has shown determination to go fully into automobiles as part of its focus.
