An Instagram user has shared what seems to be a curse word the platform used on him after suspending his account.
In a Reddit post on 3 March, the Instagram user shared a screenshot of the notification of suspension, wondering what he did wrong and why the platform would use such a curse word on him.
What happened
Instagram has been suspending accounts for the pettiest reasons recently, and still does so. One time, it suspended a user for saying the word “paradise”, making people question the integrity of the algorithm.
This must have been one of such suspensions with no reason, but why the “curse word”? Well, it may not exactly be a curse word as we think.
One explanation is that someone may have hacked the account and renamed it as “Fuck You”, because Instagram usually sends a message saying “we suspended your account, XYZ.”
Interestingly, the user can’t remember setting his name as “Fuck You”, so one comment suggested this.
“Might want to make sure you check your passwords if you didn’t make that your name on there…. you may have been hacked and they changed name to mess with the account.”
This may be what happened, because it is unlikely that Instagram would use such a curse word on a user of the platform.
Controversies about Instagram
Instagram has been faced with different controversies lately, ranging from editing users’ posts to allowing explicit and graphic content on the platform.
The platform needs to work on its algorithm to prevent further issues and the bad reputation it is building, just like other Meta platforms which users are complaining about.
For example, Facebook users have also complained about being spammed with explicit content on their feeds without ever interacting with cush content.
