Cardano Is the Most Quantum-Prepared Blockchain, News Report Finds
In Brief
- • Most major blockchains remain unprepared for potential quantum computing threats.
- • Cardano ranks as the most prepared network, and few others show active progress.
- • Some leading blockchains, including Bitcoin, face high exposure.
TechGaged looked into how well the top 10 blockchains are prepared for quantum threats, finding Cardano the readiest of them all.
According to data from TechGaged.com, citing the qLABS Quantum Vulnerability Index (qLVI), a whopping six of the top 10 blockchains are actually not ready for quantum attacks. Only four are actively taking steps to fortify their defences against this threat.
And among the four, Cardano is the most quantum-prepared network. In the table below, we see that Cardano’s preparedness level is 0, meaning ‘fully prepared’. Its work is “backed by years of research and a clearly defined long-term strategy,” the report states.

On the same list, we find the XRP Ledger, with plans to be quantum-ready by 2028, as well as Ethereum, which is conducting active research and has a clear roadmap.
Finally, Solana also has a score of 0, as it too began active research for its roadmap, migration, and wallet adoption.
Bitcoin leads the unprepared list
Quantum readiness level serves to show the exposure level of these top 10 blockchains. Those who are late with their preparations will have to resort to pushing out rushed and risky upgrades to catch up and try to protect themselves. This in itself will put users and their funds at additional risk. Preparing in advance avoids this entirely.
Of those who are the least prepared, if at all, Bitcoin stands as the most exposed, the research found. Its vulnerability score is 8.33, indicating extremely high exposure. It has no clear roadmap, despite $1.5 trillion at risk and 17 years of on-chain data. The report concludes that Bitcoin is “the network that holds the most value [and is] also the hardest to upgrade.”

Moreover, Hyperliquid, BNB Chain, and Dogecoin also have no roadmaps or indications of active research for it, despite their large ecosystem exposure.
Then, in the middle, the researchers placed Monero and Tron, noting that they are aware of the risks. Still, neither has a quantum plan. Monero’s privacy does reduce exposure, but it doesn’t mean quantum readiness.
