For those who cannot afford a new Google Pixel smartphone, Google has provided an option through the new Certified Refurbished Phone program in the U.S.
The company announced in a tweet on 28 October that the program will make it possible to buy refurbished Pixel phones at near pristine conditions for 40% off.
The new offer covers Pixel phones starting from Pixel 6 onward, and purchases are exclusive to Google Store.
How it works
Starting from now, Google will provide certified refurbished Pixel phones, which means they are thoroughly checked for battery, housing, and screens to correct any issues with the phones.
Where necessary, Google technicians use authentic Google parts to repair the phone. Each phone gets the latest Android software and is then packaged in a new box alongside a compatible charger.
The phones which become near new, also come with the same one-year warranty and customer support that buyers of new Pixel phones enjoy.
Google adds that those who buy the phones through the Google Store will get free shipping and returns, as well as access to all the authentic accessories they need to maximize the use of their new phones.
Buyers can also leverage Google Store financing at 0% APR for up to 36 months for their refurbished Pixel phones. They will also continue to get access to the latest features through regular Pixel Drops.
Improving Pixel phones
Google has done a lot of work on the Pixel phones this year. The company released the new Pixel 9 earlier this month, which has gained the attention of mobile phone users.
Later, it also rolled out the Android 15 upgrade, which came with several new features that enhance the general user experience as well as fixed bugs found in the previous versions.
