As the automotive industry continues to launch new and increasingly innovative products, Audi has just unveiled the first model under its China-exclusive ringless brand AUDI – the all-electric E5 Sportback.
Indeed, the popular car manufacturer has presented its four-door fastback and the brand’s first vehicle based on the Advanced Digitized Platform at the Volkswagen Group Media Night ahead of Auto Shanghai 2025, according to Audi’s press release from April 22.
AUDI E5 Sportback specifications
Specifically, the E5 Sportback boasts massive proportions – 4.88m long, 1.96m wide, and 1.48m high, up to 579 kW of power and a maximum range of 770km, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.4 seconds. It’s available in four variants and offers both rear-wheel and quattro all-wheel drive.
Furthermore, other notable features include a striking new AUDI Light Frame, aerodynamically refined elements like a floating front spoiler and rear wing, and illuminated logos. Inside, the cabin holds a 27-inch 4K display, a panoramic glass roof, premium seating with headrest speakers, and nature-inspired materials.
Moreover, the new AUDI OS, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 automotive chipset with 5-nanometer precision, supports advanced digital functions, seamless connectivity, and a personalized in-car assistant. It’s accompanied by the AI-powered touch- and voice-enabled AUDI Assistant.
Additionally, the LiDAR-based AUDI 360 system enhances driver safety, equipped with 29 sensors to support China-specific scenarios such as detecting e-scooters, three-wheelers, and complex urban environments, alongside advanced parking systems and nationwide adaptive cruise options.
The E5 Sportback, a product of collaboration between Audi and SAIC that has a 30% reduced production cycle thanks to simultaneous engineering efforts in Germany and China, is expected to hit the market in the summer 2025, and Audi plans to launch two additional models by 2027.
Elsewhere, Audi’s production might continue in the United States, as Volkswagen is one of the automakers considering setting up production sites there to avert fallout from the new tariffs that President Donald Trump has imposed on foreign products coming into the country.
