Adobe has brought Photoshop to Android devices, allowing more mobile users to bring their ideas to life.
In a blog post on 3 June, the software company said the tool is free for download on Google Play on Android devices starting today.
Empowering more creators
Adobe rolled out the Photoshop mobile app in February this year, bringing much excitement to creators as most of them use mobile devices.
However at the time, the app was available to only iPhone users, which limited the access for millions of Android users worldwide.
Thankfully, that is finally over, as Android users can finally access the app freely from the Google Play store.
Designed to be intuitive and accessible for creators who prefer to work on their phones, the all-new Android app includes Photoshop’s iconic image editing and design capabilities, including tools such as layering, masking and the popular, Firefly-powered Generative Fill.
Users can create whatever they want whenever they are inspired, right on their mobile phones. This ranges from designing cover art, to a video thumbnail, a vision board, or capturing an idea on the go.
Free access for a time
Adobe is rolling out the app for beta testing, and it will be available for free throughout the beta testing period. Android users will have full access to the app’s features, with more capabilities coming soon.
For now, users can use it to Enhance creative work with a growing library of free Adobe Stock assets, Make accurate selections with Object Select and Magic Wand, Refine images with advanced tools like Remove and Clone Stamp, among other features.
The app is available for devices running Android 11 or later, with a minimum of 6GB of RAM (8GB or more recommended for optimal performance), and can be accessed worldwide.
