Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho announces launch of ‘STAR10’ memecoin

Brazilian soccer icon Ronaldinho has broken into the crypto world with the announcement of his memecoin known as STAR10.

In a tweet on his official handle on 2 March, the retired football star announced that the memecoin is a means to celebrate “greatness, passion, and that legendary spirit that NEVER fades.”

Not just a token

According to Ronaldinho, the memecoin isn’t just another token, but is the making of a legacy and reaching into the future. He wrote on his official handle saying:

“Designed for those who dream big, holding this token grants you exclusive experiences, real benefits, signed collectibles, and even my own AI Agent — built for those who want to be part of history. Legends don’t fade. They inspire. They build. They leave a mark.”

Although official handles of prominent personalities such as the crown prince of Saudi Arabia have been hijacked recently to promote memecoin scams, this case seems to be different.

The memecoin has its own official website with details of the roadmap, tokenomics and tutorials on how the token works, which is too much work for scammers to do.

Besides, it’s been over 10 hours since the official announcement, which would have been denied by the soccer legend by now if it was a scam promoted by hackers who took over his account.

Since 2006 when the United Nations named him an ambassador for Sport, Development, and Peace, Ronaldinho has been dedicated to changing lives through different missions.

The $STAR10 token will help to further this mission with 5% of project fees going directly to social causes chosen by the community as the project is also community-focused.

Celebrities launching memecoins has become commonplace recently, starting with U.S. president Donald Trump and his wife Melania.

Following that, American rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) also recently launched his own memecoin, which sparked a lot of criticism. The question is, who’s next?
